Steroid Research Aims

Steroids should only be taken under close supervision of a doctor. The information provided here should not be taken as medical advice.

The aims of this review are essentially to compare the pros and cons of AAS use in athletes. This requires analysis of each reported benefit and consequence attributed to AAS.

Furthermore this review aims to quell any misconceptions that surround AAS use. This will be done by analysing secondary literature available through various journal database websites such as Scopus, Pubmed and Medline. The benefits and consequences in the literature will be assessed for definitive conclusions on AAS use. Studies done without scientific parameters will be expelled.

Ethically AAS abuse cannot be studied under normal scientific protocols. Therefore reviews into AAS use will also be analysed as will medical cases that have occurred in non-athletes. Studies will be compared for clarity and any concurrence in results.
